Hello my friends! In today's post we'll go together through making decoupaged paper pulp to adorn one of a kind jewelry pieces. The first thing we have to do is play around with our paper pulp. For these projects I had prepared an amount of disks to use for mixed media jewelry. When they were completely dry the whole game begun.
First came a rich treatment with two kinds of sandpaper.
When there was a smooth surface to work on, next step took place. It was time for painting.
I use acrylic colours to make my paper pulp happy and shiny. A bunge of purple colour disks came out.
Now was the time for these disk to get a story on them, so I teared a book page into small interesting formed pieces.
I love this stage of work.
Blending these materials together takes us to the decoupage part. Nearly ten coats of decoupage glue and varnish, come to hug the pulp disks on both sides.
When all disks are decoupaged, I move my materials to a new surface, that's most inspiring for me to design. In that case, we are talking about a canvas. And then, starts the thinking. How should I move further with the beauties made? I decided to put some crocheted flowers in the whole, and there came cotton fiber and my steel crochet hook.
I started with a red flower, to end with a purle and a light blue one. We will see this later. In this point, I just want to say, that changing my mind is part of the fun of designing. Never do I know what the final outcome will be, until I have it!
Let's get ready to transform our paper pulp disks into beads. There's some drilling going on...
Fine silver wire is next.
Used for joinind disks together...
...and embelishing parts as well.
The wire embelisment then gets hammered, for detail and strenght.
And finally the best part. We have everything ready and set. Let's bind them all together.
There was created, a super yummie necklace with hammered wire, handmade paper pulp, decoupaged beads, crocheted flowers, and purple, flexible beading wire. An extension chain at the fastening, makes sure, that it will stand as it is supposed to, to all different girls out there.
Also a pair of earings. Our story beads, wire curves, cotton thread and swarovski crystals, dangle for a light weighted adornment, that will make you feel trully one of a kind.
Qutties... What do you think?
